Washer Problems We Fix
- Won't drain — usually a clogged drain pump, a sock or coin caught in the impeller, or a kinked drain hose.
- Won't spin — lid switch on top-loaders, door latch on front-loaders, broken belt, or worn motor coupling.
- Loud during spin — drum bearings or a shock-absorber failure. We test both.
- Leaks — pump seal, door boot (front-load), inlet hose, or a cracked outer tub. Front-load door boots are the #1 leak source after 5-7 years.
- Won't fill or fills too slowly — inlet valves, clogged screens, or a stuck pressure switch.
- Error codes on Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, and GE smart units — we have the manufacturer codebooks and diagnostic dongles.
Dryer Problems We Fix
- Won't heat — electric: heating element, high-limit thermostat, or thermal fuse. Gas: igniter, flame sensor, or gas valve coils.
- Takes too long to dry — almost always either a clogged vent (start here) or a weak heating element. We test both with proper instruments.
- Won't tumble — broken belt, idler pulley, or drum roller bearings.
- Squealing or grinding — drum rollers, idler pulley, or rear drum bearing.
- Won't start — door switch, start switch, thermal fuse (especially after a vent obstruction), or control board.
Brands We Service
Whirlpool, Maytag, GE, Frigidaire, Samsung, LG, Kenmore, Electrolux, Bosch, Speed Queen, Miele. Top-load HE, traditional agitator, front-load, stackable, and gas-or-electric on the dryer side.
Repair or Replace?
Top-load washers usually pay back a repair if they're under 10 years old and the part isn't the transmission or main control board. Front-load washers earn a repair longer because the units cost more to replace. Dryers almost always justify repair — the failure points (elements, fuses, belts, igniters) are inexpensive relative to a new unit. We'll do the math with you before recommending either path.
